Protection against overwriting changes in Hummerce protects admins' work when several people edit the same object in the panel - an item, order or customer. On save, the system checks whether the object has changed since it was loaded for editing, and if there's a conflict, lets the admin knowingly choose what to do with the changes they entered.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- Less accidentally overwritten work - an admin sees that someone else has changed the object before overwriting their changes with their own.
- An informed choice on conflict - save anyway, reload the current data, or go back to editing without saving.
- A preview of change history from the editing period - makes it easier to assess what changed in the meantime before deciding whether to save.
- Works for every object edited in the panel - e.g. an item, order or customer.
- On save, after editing any object in the panel (e.g. an item, order or customer), the system checks whether the object has changed since its data was loaded for editing.
- Object unchanged - the save proceeds normally, as before.
- Object changed during editing - the store shows three options:
- Save anyway - the data changed in the current session is saved. Note: if someone else changed the same element in the meantime (e.g. an item's visibility in a category, its price), that earlier change will be overwritten.
- Reload current data - the page reloads with the current data; all data entered before the save attempt is lost.
- Return to editing - the entered data is not saved; it can be updated manually.
- When a conflict is detected, the store also shows the change history entries that appeared during that period - this helps assess what changed before deciding whether to save. For very significant changes, it's worth carefully checking their scope before saving.
- For technical reasons, some changes don't show a full preview of what changed - however, you can still see, for example, who made them.
- We do not review the configuration for legal compliance - the rules for how multiple admins work in the panel are set by the store.
Does Hummerce warn when two people edit the same object at the same time?
Yes. On save, the system checks whether the object has changed since it was loaded for editing, and on conflict lets the admin choose what to do next.
What happens to my changes if I choose "Save anyway" despite the warning?
Your changes are saved, but if someone else changed the same element in the meantime (e.g. the price or category visibility), their earlier change will be overwritten.
Can you see exactly what another admin changed?
Usually yes - the store shows change history entries from that period. For technical reasons, some changes don't show a full preview, but you can still see, for example, who made them.
Does the mechanism work for all objects in the panel?
Yes, for any object edited in the panel - e.g. an item, order or customer.
