DHL in Hummerce is a courier integration: the store automatically creates the shipment in the DHL24 system, generates the label and waybill number, and the customer can additionally order evening or Saturday delivery. The current integration uses DHL24 (WebAPI v2) - it replaces the older, file-exchange-based one for new deployments.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- Automatic shipment and label creation after the order status changes to "ready to ship" - no manual re-typing of the address into the DHL system.
- The courier can be called automatically after the label is generated, with no separate contact with DHL.
- Add-on services: evening delivery, Saturday delivery, shipment insurance, cash on delivery.
- Several label formats (BLP, LBLP, LP, ZBLP) matched to the printer and how the label is attached.
- Automatic reading of the shipped and delivered status.
- Sender data can be swapped per store view - useful with several warehouses or shipping branches.
- DHL (older integration) - exchanged data with the DHL system via FTP files, with field mapping and shipment weight; being phased out.
- DHL24 (current, recommended) - online communication with the DHL24 system (WebAPI v2), recommended for new deployments.
¶ Creating a shipment and the label
- A delivery method with the symbol "dhl24" is automatically handled by the DHL24 integration.
- After the order's delivery status changes to "ready to ship," the store creates the shipment in DHL24 (unless automatic courier ordering is disabled in the configuration).
- The label is available in several formats (BLP, LBLP, LP, ZBLP), matched to the printer and how it's attached.
- The courier can be called automatically after the label is generated, with a set pickup time window.
¶ Sender data and the payer
- By default, sender data (name, street, house and apartment number, city, postal code, contact person and email) is set once for the whole integration.
- Optionally, sender data can be pulled from the view assigned to the order - useful with several warehouses or shipping branches.
- The shipment's payer (sender, recipient or another account number) and payment method (transfer, cash) are set in the integration configuration.
¶ Add-on services and statuses
- Evening delivery and Saturday delivery are separate add-on services, enabled as order or delivery properties and passed on to DHL.
- Shipment insurance is configurable.
- The store periodically checks the shipment status in DHL24 (the "DHL24 shipment tracking" task) and recognizes shipped and delivered based on the response pattern - a narrower range of statuses than, for example, the InPost integration.
- Courier integration with DHL has been available in the platform for a long time - the exact version in which DHL24 was introduced isn't clear from the available sources.
- DHL24 replaces the older, file-exchange-based integration - for customers still using it, both may run in parallel during a transition period.
- A contract with DHL and an account in the DHL24 system (customer number, API key) - the store arranges these on its own after logging in to the DHL24 system.
- A confirmed standing pickup agreement with DHL - without it, shipments with some payment methods fail validation.
- The house number in the delivery address - the integration requires it.
- General rules for delivery methods - Delivery methods overview.
- Requires implementation - the integration doesn't work without configuration. Scope:
- enabling the DHL24 integration and filling in access data and sender data,
- assigning a delivery method with the symbol "dhl24",
- choosing add-on services (evening delivery, Saturday delivery, insurance, cash on delivery),
- testing in the DHL test environment and switching to production.
- Minimum estimated time: from 4 h.
- What the time depends on: the number of warehouses/senders (sender data per view), the number of add-on services chosen, whether migration from the older, file-based DHL integration is needed.
- The older integration (based on file exchange) is being phased out - we don't recommend it for new deployments.
- Automatic DHL24 statuses only recognize shipped and delivered (based on the response pattern) - the full range of statuses available for InPost isn't available.
- The integration requires a confirmed standing pickup agreement with DHL - without it, some payment methods fail shipment validation.
- No management of the DHL integration through the REST API and MCP - configuration only in the panel.
- We do not verify the task for legal compliance (e.g. licenses of submitted materials, GDPR, store terms of service).
- Fully retiring the older, file-based DHL integration in favor of DHL24.
- Extending automatic shipment statuses to the full range of DHL24 events.
- Managing the courier integration's settings through the API and MCP.
Does the store generate the DHL label on its own?
Yes. The DHL24 integration creates the shipment and label after the order status changes to "ready to ship."
Can evening or Saturday delivery be ordered?
Yes, these are separate add-on services of the DHL24 integration.
Does the store automatically check the shipment status?
Partly. DHL24 recognizes shipped and delivered; the full range of statuses, as with the InPost integration, isn't available.
Does DHL support cash on delivery?
Yes, once the payer and payment method are set in the integration configuration.
How long does implementing the DHL integration take?
From 4 h.
Does the old, file-based DHL integration still work?
Yes, where it was deployed earlier, but it's being phased out - new deployments should use DHL24.
Want to see how the DHL integration could work in your store? Contact the Hummerce team (in Polish).
- Integration configuration: Configuration -> the DHL24 tab - Account number, User, Password, Test mode, sender data (SENDER Name, SENDER Street, SENDER House number, SENDER Apartment number, SENDER City, SENDER Postal code), Contact person, Contact email, Payer type, Payment method, Label type, Should the courier arrive with a label?, Call the courier after the label is generated, Lower pickup time window (DHL), Upper pickup time window (DHL), Event logging, Send email.
- Delivery/order properties: Evening delivery, Saturday delivery.
- The scheduled task "DHL24 shipment tracking" is responsible for automatically fetching statuses.
¶ REST API and MCP
- The REST API and MCP have no dedicated methods for the DHL integration - the delivery method, delivery status and tracking number are visible through the general REST API and MCP for deliveries (Delivery methods overview); the integration itself updates this data on the order.
- Cart messages related to delivery - in the message editor, shared by all delivery methods.
