Data transfer in Hummerce is a set of panel tools that let store staff exchange data with Excel and XML files on their own - items, stock levels, prices, customers and other catalog objects - without a developer's help for every update. Each type of data has its own transfer, but they all follow the same rules: a test mode before saving, background processing, and a clear summary at the end.
Last updated: 2026-09-29. The transfer mechanism is a core platform feature - available in all current store versions.
The Data transfer menu shows all transfers configured in the store. After choosing a transfer, you still need to pick a direction - import or export (some transfers only support one of them). Standard platform transfers:
Which transfers are visible in the menu depends on the specific store's configuration - not all are enabled right away.
A separate Bulk operation on items transfer changes one selected field (e.g. the main category, or removal from a category view) for many items selected by criteria (e.g. category, producer, property) - instead of opening and saving each item individually on its item card. Unlike file imports, it has no test mode - the change applies immediately to the selected items. Details: Bulk operations on items.
Can the file be checked before saving changes in the store?
Yes. Test mode checks the whole file and rolls back the transaction at the end, without saving anything in the store.
Does an error in one row stop the whole import?
By default, yes. With ignore errors turned on, the transfer skips the invalid row, shows it in the summary, and continues with the rest of the file.
Do you need to watch the transfer until it finishes in an open panel?
No, you don't need to wait at the computer - the transfer runs server-side, and the panel just shows its current state; the result and any errors are visible in the summary when you come back to the panel.
Can only selected items be imported, without touching the rest?
It depends on the transfer - in append mode (e.g. for stock import), only the items from the file are updated, the rest stays unchanged.
Does a transfer adapted to a customer's non-standard file require implementation?
Yes, when the file has a different column layout than the platform standard - adapting the transfer is quoted individually after analyzing the file.
