UPS in Hummerce is a courier integration: once the order's status changes to "ready to ship," the store automatically reports the shipment to UPS, saves the waybill number and notifies the customer by email.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- Automatic shipment reporting to UPS once the order's delivery status changes - no manual re-typing of the address into the UPS system.
- The waybill number is saved on the order automatically, with no involvement from store staff.
- The customer gets an email once the waybill number is created.
- Cash on delivery support, recognized by the payment symbol set in the configuration.
- A default order weight and an additional weight (e.g. for packaging) can be set, added to every shipment.
- A delivery method with the UPS symbol configured is automatically handled by the integration.
- Once the order's delivery status changes to "ready to ship," the store sends the order data to UPS and saves the returned waybill number.
- If the order has zero weight, the store uses the default weight set in the integration configuration.
- The integration distinguishes test and production mode - until testing is finished, data goes to the UPS test environment.
¶ Sender and account data
- Sender data (name, a three-line address, city, postal code, country code, phone) is set once for the whole integration, together with the UPS account number billed for the shipment cost.
- The pickup location (the address the courier actually collects the parcel from) can be set separately, if it differs from the account's billing address.
- Authorizing with the UPS API requires a username, password and access key - the store gets these after opening an account and registering with the UPS developer program.
- The integration recognizes cash-on-delivery payment by the payment symbol set in the configuration (Cash on delivery payment symbol) and reports such a shipment to UPS as COD.
- The UPS integration has been available in the platform for a long time - the exact version it was introduced in isn't clear from the available sources.
- A UPS account and API access key - the store sets these up on its own on ups.com, and after opening the account signs an agreement with the UPS sales department.
- A house number and postal code in the delivery address - the integration requires them to address the shipment correctly.
- General rules for delivery methods - Delivery methods overview.
- Requires implementation - the integration doesn't work without configuration. Scope:
- opening a UPS account and getting an access key (on the customer's side),
- enabling the integration in the panel and filling in access data and sender data,
- assigning a delivery method with the UPS symbol,
- testing in the UPS test environment and switching to production.
- Minimum estimated time: from 4 h, not counting the wait for the account and access key on UPS's side.
- What the time depends on: whether the customer already has an account and access key, the number of views and delivery methods using UPS.
- No management of the UPS integration through the REST API and MCP - configuration only in the panel.
- The pickup address is shared by the whole integration - a separate pickup address per view (as in the DPD integration) isn't available.
- We do not verify the task for legal compliance (e.g. licenses of submitted materials, GDPR, store terms of service).
- Automatic, periodic shipment statuses, following the InPost and DHL24 integrations.
- A pickup address assigned to a store view.
- Managing the courier integration's settings through the API and MCP.
Does the store report the shipment to UPS on its own?
Yes, once the order's delivery status changes to "ready to ship."
Do you need a UPS account before implementing the integration?
Yes. An account, access key and agreement with UPS are a prerequisite - the store obtains them on its own.
Does UPS support cash on delivery?
Yes, once the cash-on-delivery payment symbol is set in the integration configuration.
Does the customer get notified when the shipment number is created?
Yes, by email, automatically once the waybill number is saved on the order.
How long does implementing the UPS integration take?
From 4 h, not counting the wait for the account and access key on UPS's side.
Does the integration automatically update the in-transit shipment status?
No - the integration saves the waybill number when the shipment is created; automatic in-transit and delivered statuses, as with InPost or DHL24, aren't available.

- Integration configuration: Configuration -> the UPS module tab - UPS system username, UPS password, Access key, Cash on delivery payment symbol, Default order weight, Additional weight (kg), sender data (Sender company name, UPS system account name, Account number (sender), Sender address (line 1-3), Sender city, Sender postal code, Sender country code, Sender phone number), optionally separate pickup-location data (Name (shipping location), Contact person at the pickup location, Address/city/postal code/country code/phone of the pickup location).
- Delivery method: the delivery method handled by the integration is given the UPS symbol in the delivery method's edit screen.
- Order: waybill number, information from UPS, label, weight (gross) - in the order's additional information.
¶ REST API and MCP
- The REST API and MCP have no dedicated methods for the UPS integration - the delivery method, delivery status and tracking number are visible through the general REST API and MCP for deliveries (Delivery methods overview); the integration itself updates this data on the order.
- The email alert to the customer about the waybill number being created - in the message editor.
