Cart completion in Hummerce shows the customer, right in the cart, how much more they need to spend to reach free delivery, and suggests specific products that close that gap. Instead of dropping the purchase over the shipping cost, the customer buys one more product - which also raises the average order value.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- Fewer carts abandoned right before the free delivery threshold - the customer sees how much they're missing instead of giving up over the shipping cost.
- Higher average order value - the store suggests specific products to add, not just the missing amount.
- Works automatically for every delivery method with a free-shipping threshold set, with no manual promotion setup.
- Any delivery method can have a free delivery threshold set (the Border price field in the delivery method's edit screen, see Delivery methods - overview).
- The cart completion suggestion appears when the gap between the free delivery threshold and the cart value is smaller than the configured Money threshold (default 100) - e.g. with a free delivery threshold of PLN 100 and a money threshold of PLN 20, the suggestion already appears at a cart value of PLN 80.
- The money threshold can be set very high so the suggestion always appears, regardless of the cart value.
- Once the cart value has already reached the free delivery threshold, the store shows a free-delivery message instead of product suggestions.
- The store suggests items that are available, visible and purchasable, priced at least as high as the missing amount - so that adding one product closes the free delivery threshold right away.
- By default, only regular items are considered (not variants) - the Show only normal products setting also includes variants.
- The Excluded categories setting excludes selected item categories together with their subcategories, e.g. technical categories or items not meant for topping up the cart.
- The Show completion items only from different categories setting limits suggestions to categories other than the ones already in the customer's cart.
- When there aren't enough products at the required price, the store fills the list with the highest-priced items instead, regardless of the threshold.
- A core platform mechanism - present in the current store templates (Bootstrap 5 and Bootstrap 4).
- Works right after an update - the mechanism is part of the current store templates and doesn't need enabling.
- Only requires setting the free delivery threshold on the chosen delivery methods and, optionally, adjusting the money threshold and excluded categories in the configuration.
- Minimum estimated time: setting the free delivery threshold and money threshold - from 0.5 h (panel settings); adapting the suggestion's look to a custom template - from 2 h.
- What the time depends on: the number of delivery methods with a free shipping threshold, the number of languages (messages), how much the suggestion's appearance is customized in the template.
- The suggestion only works for delivery methods with a free delivery threshold (Border price) set - nothing shows for other delivery methods.
- The money threshold and excluded categories are shared across the whole store - they can't be set separately per delivery method or view.
- Suggested products are chosen only by price, availability and category - the mechanism doesn't take purchase history or similarity to items already in the cart into account.
- We do not verify the configuration for legal compliance - the message wording and the free delivery threshold amount are set by the store.
- A separate money threshold and excluded categories per delivery method or view.
- Choosing suggested products based on purchase history or similarity to items in the cart.
- A ready-made, further customizable suggestion view in the Bootstrap 5 template.
Does Hummerce suggest to the customer how to reach free delivery?
Yes. When the cart value is close to the free delivery threshold, the store shows a message and a list of matching products.
Can the threshold at which the suggestion appears be changed?
Yes, with the Money threshold setting in the store configuration - it can also be set very high so the suggestion always appears.
Can selected item categories be excluded from the suggestions?
Yes, with the Excluded categories setting - several categories can be selected, together with their subcategories.
Does the mechanism work for all delivery methods?
Only for those with a free delivery threshold (Border price) set - other delivery methods don't show a suggestion.
How long does enabling and configuring cart completion take?
From 0.5 h for panel settings - more if the suggestion needs to match a custom template.
