¶ Order invoices - generation and ERP import
Order invoices in Hummerce reach the customer without manual work from store staff - Hummerce can issue the invoice itself after an order status change, or fetch a ready-made invoice from an ERP system if the store handles invoicing there.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- An invoice ready without staff work - generated automatically by default after an order status change (e.g. to "sent"), with the next sequential number under a defined template.
- Always up-to-date invoice data - the invoice saves the order's data at the moment it's generated, so a later change to the order's data doesn't change the already issued document.
- Manual issuing on demand - store staff can generate an invoice with a button on the order, independently of the automatic process.
- An ERP invoice in the same place - stores invoicing in an ERP system get invoice import together with the PDF file straight into the order, without logging into the ERP: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Comarch ERP XL, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
A sample invoice template generated in Hummerce (seller, buyer and payer data redacted).
- After an order status change (by default: delivery status changing to "sent"), Hummerce generates an invoice document with the next number under a defined numbering template.
- The generated document is saved with the order - it can be downloaded at any time from the order in the panel.
- Store staff can also generate an invoice manually with a button on the order, independently of the automatic generation after a status change.
- An invoice always contains the order's data as it was at the moment the invoice was generated - changing the order's data after the invoice was issued doesn't change the already issued document.
- Stores that invoice in an ERP system instead of in Hummerce can instead import ready-made invoices (and corrections) from the ERP, together with the PDF file.
- An imported invoice goes into that integration's invoice repository in the panel, with a downloadable PDF on the order - neither the customer nor store staff need to log into the ERP.
- Generating an invoice in Hummerce and importing invoices from an ERP are two independent mechanisms - a store uses one of them, depending on where it handles invoicing.
Order invoices are a core platform feature - available in all current versions. Importing invoices from a specific ERP system depends on that integration's version - see that integration's page.
- Invoice template - prepared during implementation, matched to the store's requirements (seller data, numbering, VAT rates).
- Importing invoices from an ERP requires a running integration with that system (Business Central, Comarch ERP XL, Navision).
- Sending an invoice by email - active alerts and email templates.
- Requires implementation - the invoice template and numbering are set individually for each store; panel configuration only covers the number template and the automatic generation toggle.
- Minimum estimated time: invoice template and numbering - from 4 h; sending the invoice by email - from 1 h; additional invoice export - from 2 h.
- Importing invoices from an ERP is quoted as part of that integration's implementation - see the integration's page.
- What the time depends on: how complex the invoice template is (seller data, VAT variants, languages), the number of statuses that trigger generation, the scope of invoice export.
- Automatic invoice generation is by default triggered by a delivery status change - a different trigger moment requires configuration during implementation.
- When automatic generation is disabled, an invoice is only created if an invoice number was entered manually on the order beforehand.
- A generated invoice doesn't update after the order's data changes - a correction has to be documented separately (e.g. as a credit note).
- Invoice import from an ERP is one-directional (from the ERP to the store) and only available for supported ERP integrations.
- We do not verify the task for legal compliance (e.g. licenses of supplied materials, GDPR, store terms of service, VAT invoicing requirements).
- Automatic invoice sending by email in the standard configuration (today an additional option implemented individually).
- Generating other order documents (e.g. confirmations, waybills) using the same template mechanism.
Does Hummerce generate invoices automatically?
Yes, by default after an order status change (e.g. to "sent") - with the next number under a defined template.
Can an invoice be issued manually?
Yes. Store staff can generate an invoice with a button on the order, independently of the automatic process.
What happens to the invoice after the order's data changes?
Nothing - the invoice saves the order's data as it was at the moment it was generated and doesn't change when the order is edited later.
Can invoices come from an ERP system instead of Hummerce?
Yes - integrations with Business Central, Comarch ERP XL and Navision import invoices issued in the ERP, together with the PDF file, straight into the order.
How long does implementing invoices take?
Invoice template and numbering - from 4 h. We quote sending by email and invoice export separately, depending on scope.

- Configuration -> Settings, Invoices group: the invoice number template (the available variables are described in the panel) and the setting for automatic invoice generation after a delivery status change.
- Order: a button to manually generate an invoice, preview and download of the generated document.
- ERP invoices: a separate menu item and invoice repository for that integration in the panel (e.g. Business Central - Invoices) - see that integration's page.
¶ REST API and MCP
No dedicated invoice operations in the REST API or MCP - the invoice document is available as a file on the order in the panel.
The invoice is saved on the order as a file and an invoice number. An additional invoice export (configured during implementation) can combine the invoice number, buyer data and amounts from the order's items in a CSV file.
