Product promotions in Hummerce lower the price of chosen items according to defined criteria - the store view, a customer group, a category or specific products - and can be active only during a chosen period, on chosen days of the week or at chosen hours. A promotion can set the price in several ways: from an item property, from a named price list, as a fixed amount, or as a discount.
As of Hummerce 2.23 or newer, updated 2026-09-28.
¶ Benefits and use cases
- Discounts limited to a chosen store view - e.g. a promotion only in the retail view.
- Promotions targeted at chosen customer groups - guests, logged-in customers, or a specific group.
- Promotions on chosen items, categories or item groups.
- Flexible ways to set the promotional price - from an item property, from a named price list (including individual customer price lists), as a fixed price, or as a discount.
- Time-limited promotions - a date range, hours during the day, or chosen days of the week.
- Order and combining promotions - the admin sets the order promotions are applied in and decides whether a given promotion combines with the following ones.
- Panel: Promotion -> Item promotions.
- Promotions run in the order visible on the list (the order can be changed); only active promotions are taken into account.
- Prices first go through Price list rules, and only then through a product promotion.
- general criteria, e.g. the store view,
- customer criteria - guests, logged-in customers, with the option to restrict to a chosen group,
- item criteria - visibility in a category, availability, etc.
- Price from selected property - sets the price from any item property (e.g. price A),
- Price from selected price list - sets the price from a named price list (e.g. a wholesale price list) or from individual customer price lists,
- Fixed price - a price given directly in the rule,
- Discount - the base price lowered by a set discount,
- Base price - the price from the item's price attribute (the behavior from before promotions were introduced).
- a date range (from-to),
- hours of availability during the day,
- days of the week the promotion is active on.
- If the promotion's criteria are met (view, customer, item, time), the pricing policy calculates the price according to the promotion's rule (e.g. discount, price from a property). If there are further active and matching promotions, the price is recalculated again.
- For each promotion, you can set whether it combines with the following promotions on the list.
- Since version 2.23 - product promotions are part of the Pricing policy.
- We do not verify the configuration for legal compliance - how discounts and prices are presented (e.g. Omnibus directive requirements) is decided by the store.
Can a product promotion be limited to a chosen store view?
Yes, the promotion's general criteria include the store view.
Can a promotion apply only at chosen hours or on chosen days of the week?
Yes. You can set a date range, hours of availability during the day, and the days of the week the promotion is active on.
Can several product promotions stack on the same item?
Yes, if each of them has combining with the following promotions on the list enabled - the price is then recalculated by every matching promotion in turn.
Does a product promotion work independently of price list rules?
Not quite. The price first goes through price list rules, and the product promotion modifies the already calculated customer price.
