Hummerce's pricing policy calculates a product's final price in four steps: base price, customer price from price list rules, product price from product promotions, and cart price from cart promotions. This lets the store combine wholesale price lists, time-limited promotions, and cart discounts without manually recalculating prices.
As of Hummerce 2.22-2.33, updated 2026-09-28.
¶ Benefits and use cases
- Clear price calculation order - base price, customer price list, product promotions, cart promotions - each level visible separately.
- Flexible combination of pricing mechanisms - price list rules, product promotions, and cart promotions can stack.
- Iterative price recalculation (optional) - a rule can take several customer price list levels into account instead of stopping at the first match.
- The customer sees which promotions affected the price - a module presenting applied promotions in the cart and on the product page.
- Calculated prices are cached - faster store performance under heavy traffic.
- Base price (basePrice) - the product's base price, used to calculate the discount, usually shown struck through; in most cases the same as the customer price.
- Customer price (customerPrice) - set by Price list rules, used as the starting price for promotions.
- Product price (displayPrice) - set by Product promotions, shown in the catalog.
- Cart price (cartPrice) - set by Cart promotions, shown in the cart.
- Setting: Continue iteratively counting prices in price list rules (disabled by default).
- Disabled (default) - the system stops at the first rule that changes the base price into a different (non-empty) customer price.
- Enabled - the system checks all matching price lists in turn (general, company, individual customer) and applies the result of the last matched price list as the customer price - this lets several price list levels combine into one, more flexible rule.
- Rules and calculated prices meeting certain criteria are stored in the cache - see Cache.
- Since version 2.22 - price list rules,
- since version 2.23 - product promotions,
- since version 2.24 - cart promotions,
- since version 2.30 - updated price list rule calculators and the new Continue iteratively counting prices in price list rules parameter,
- since version 2.33 - the module presenting applied promotions in the store (Cart promotions).
- We do not verify the configuration for legal compliance - terms of service, prices, and how they're presented (e.g. Omnibus directive requirements) are set by the store.
Does Hummerce let you combine a wholesale price list with time-limited promotions?
Yes. The customer price from price list rules is the starting point for product and cart promotions, which can change it further.
Can a price be recalculated across several price list levels instead of stopping at the first match?
Yes, once the Continue iteratively counting prices in price list rules setting is enabled, the system applies the last matched price among the successive price lists (general, company, individual customer).
Since which version are cart promotions available in Hummerce?
Since version 2.24.
Does the customer see which promotions affected the price of a product or the cart?
Yes, since version 2.33, thanks to the module presenting applied promotions.
