Product comparison in Hummerce lets a customer add several items to one table and compare their price and parameters side by side. It suits stores whose items differ in many features - electronics, home appliances, technical goods for business buyers. Customers choose faster and ask the sales team about differences less often.

¶ Benefits and use cases
- Faster choice - the customer sees the price and key parameters of several items in one table.
- Fewer questions to support - differences between products are visible without calling or writing.
- Highlighted differences - one button marks the rows in which the items differ.
- Buying from the comparison - an add-to-cart button next to each item.
- The store picks the parameters - the table shows only the parameters the store assigns to comparison.
- No extra integration - the feature is part of the standard store.
- The customer adds an item to the comparison with a button on the item page. In the Bootstrap 4 template the button is also on the item tile in lists.
- The store header has a Comparison icon with an item counter that leads to the comparison page.
- Adding and removing works without reloading the page.
- The customer removes an item with the same button or on the comparison page.
- The number of items in the comparison is limited by a store setting - 3 by default.
- When the limit is reached, the add buttons are disabled and the tooltip states the allowed number ("The maximum number of products to comparison is: 3").
- After removing an item, the add buttons work again.
- The table shows the image and name of each item, a Price row and the parameters assigned to comparison.
- Rows in which none of the items has a value are skipped. A missing value for one item is shown as "-".
- With at least two items, the Show differences button (and Hide differences) works. When the items do not differ at all, the store says: "There are no differences.".
- With one item the store invites the customer to add more; with an empty list it says there are no items.
- Each item has remove, details and Add to cart buttons. The cart button appears only for items that can be bought directly (not configurable ones).
- The comparison list belongs to the customer's session in the store - it is not saved on the customer account.
- After the browser is closed and the session ends, the list disappears and the customer starts over.
- A specific variant of an item is compared. When the customer changes the variant on the item page, the comparison button switches to the selected variant.
- Bootstrap 5 template - from version 2.33.
- Bootstrap 4 template - available since 2022.
- Works after the update - the header icon, the button on the item page and the comparison page are in the standard template and work immediately, with a limit of 3 items.
- Implementation scope:
- choosing the parameters to appear in the comparison and assigning them to the comparison location,
- changing the item limit if 3 is too low,
- adapting the look of the comparison page and buttons to the store template, including adding the button to the item tile in the Bootstrap 5 template,
- translating messages if the store runs in several languages.
- Minimum estimated time: from 3 h (assigning a dozen or so parameters to the comparison and optionally changing the limit). Adapting the look and extra buttons are quoted individually.
- What the time depends on: number of parameters to assign, store template, look customization, number of languages.
- There is no panel switch to turn comparison off - removing it from the store requires a template change.
- The comparison list lives only during the customer's session - it is not remembered on the account.
- In the standard Bootstrap 5 template the button is on the item page and in the header; on the list tile it is added during implementation.
- The table shows the price and the parameters of the comparison location - it does not compare descriptions or availability.
- The item limit is shared by the whole store, not set per category.
- Product comparison in the store is not the same as price comparison sites (such as Ceneo) - see Product feeds.
- Remembering the comparison list on the customer account.

Is product comparison enabled by default?
Yes. It works after the update, with a limit of 3 items. The parameters to compare must be assigned to the comparison location.
How many items can be compared?
3 by default. The limit is changed in the store settings in the panel (Max products in comparison).
What happens when a customer adds more items than the limit?
The add buttons become disabled and the tooltip states the maximum number. The customer has to remove an item first.
Does the list survive closing the browser?
No. The list belongs to the customer's session and disappears when it ends.
How do I choose which parameters appear in the comparison?
Assign them to the comparison location in the panel - see Properties and locations. Without assigned parameters the table shows only the price.
Can item variants be compared?
Yes. The variant selected on the item page is compared.
How long does implementation take?
The feature works after the update. Choosing the parameters for comparison takes from 3 h; adapting the look is quoted separately.
