The item catalog in Hummerce is the item card in the admin panel, the category tree, variants and properties - a shared base used at the same time by the retail store, the wholesale store, and any additional view. The same item can be assigned to multiple categories and views, copied as a starting point for the next product, and found - by both the customer in the store and staff in the panel - in a few seconds.
An item in Hummerce is an article with any number of variants (e.g. size, color) and a set of properties describing it in the store and in search - see Variants - article and sub-items and Properties and locations.
The AI assistant handles items with the same permissions as in the panel: searching and item details, creating and editing, managing variants and properties, bulk changes, and changing visibility in views.
Can one item be visible in several categories?
Yes. Besides the main category, an item can be assigned to any number of additional categories in the Visibility in categories field.
Does a copied item get a new URL?
Yes, when the store has automatic friendly URL creation enabled - then the copy gets its own unique address with a numeric suffix, so it doesn't collide with the original.
Does the panel search look through items, orders and customers at the same time?
It depends on the field. Full-text search works separately on the item, order and customer lists - each list has its own search field.
Can the AI assistant change an item's visibility in categories and views?
Yes, with the same permissions as an admin in the panel.
Is the catalog shared between the B2B and B2C store?
Yes. Categories, variants and properties are shared - only the set of items and prices visible in a given view differs.
